From the minute we started with Webtec they have been excellent. Travis knowledge on building our website was second to none, how patient they were with our whole team was incredible, and the finish product is better than we could have asked for.

We are thrilled with our new site from Webtec. Edward had a great vision for taking our web presence to the next level and Sam was able to get it all done! Working with them was a pleasure. I highly recommend the team! Thank you!

a welcoming yoga environment

Our community is a diverse and vibrant group of yogis from all walks of life. We are students balancing studies and self-care, working professionals navigating busy schedules, tech enthusiasts finding mindfulness, dedicated parents managing family life, gig workers seeking stability, service industry professionals staying grounded, educators inspiring others, and so much more. No matter your background, experience, or lifestyle, we come together through the shared practice of yoga.

At Left Coast Power Yoga, we believe in creating an inclusive and welcoming space where everyone feels at home. With a lifelong commitment to movement, breath, and connection, we are proud to be one of the most open-hearted and supportive yoga communities in the Oakland area.

Left Coast power yoga FAQs

Our original Grand Lake studio is located at 3700-3704 Grand Ave, near Lake Merritt. Our second locations is in the Laurel District, at 4148 Macarthur Blvd, near High Street.

We have found that wooden yoga studio floors are uncomfortable on the joints of the body, particularly the knees, thus we provide anti-microbial Zebra Mat floors in both of our locations. There is ½ inch of firm cushion under the knees, elbows at all times, plus the thickness of your Yoga Mat at all times.

We hope that you practice at our yoga studio with us for a long time, and in order to do so, it’s important to practice with correct alignment. Since our number one priority is to keep students safe, we find that mirrors allow students to adjust their alignment based on the teacher’s cues throughout class.

In yoga, a warm environment promotes detoxification and deeper release into the poses. Our gently heated classes are warmed to 85-90 degrees in our yoga studio and our unheated yoga classes are to 75 degrees. We do not offer “Hot” (i.e. hotter than 100 degrees) yoga classes.

We do not currently offer showers for student use.

Our Flow + Restore and Alignment Flow classes are great for pregnancy! We recommend not starting Power Yoga if you haven’t taken Power classes before. However, if you are used to the practice, please keep coming! Just drink more water, modify, and take breaks when needed. Folks who are pregnant should NOT practice in a super-heated yoga studio (100 degrees or more) but we have found that the 88-degree temp works fine for most of our pregnant yogis! Of course, we encourage you to listen to your body and what feels good to you.

Just yourself, your mat, and your water bottle. At our yoga studio, we provide blocks, blankets, bolsters, and straps. We also provide free filtered water. Please check our Studio Policies page for more details! We are street parking only so please allow yourself 10-15 extra minutes before class to park and check in!
